[ freelance writer, magazine contributor, content creator and conversational journalist.]
I’m a creature of habit, lover of cocktail (drinks & dresses), health and wellness, podcasts, books and beautiful words on soft lips.
I’m a balance seeker who believes you can like pink sparkly things and engage in intelligent conversation on numerous consequential issues that affect us all as a society.
This blog was created with the hopes of entertaining, educating and resonating with -one person. Just one person (the more, the better obviously).
I want to create things that mean something.
The girl who… is about reminding women they aren’t just one thing. They don’t have to conform to fit a certain mould. We can break away from these pressures we place on ourselves- that society place on us – to become the girl who ….. (you fill in the “blanks” – *note the plural used).
It’s about ambivalence and imperfection, and what it is to be a woman in real life.
“It was smack bang in the middle of my study when I began to realise the journalism industry wasn’t as I had expected & that maybe it wasn’t for me. While I admire and have the utmost respect for hard news reporters, this traditional journalist career path is not the one I wish to pursue. My personal values and characteristics aren’t suited to this particular role and it has taken me a while to come to terms with this and to not see it as a flaw or failure – but to embrace it, which was the beginning of this blog and my transition to freelance writing.”
Join me as I try to quench my edacious thirst for anything words.
